Each winter, people seek fresh air, adventures with friends and family, and a good workout when they hit the slopes. Whether carving down a well-groomed run, braving the backcountry to find fresh powder and fewer people, or testing yourself at the terrain park, safety awareness has increased as most ski resorts now require helmets. Choosing the right helmet is now as crucial as selecting skis and boots. Your helmet can reflect your riding style, personality, distinctive fashion sense, and preference for safety.
British helmet manufacturer Ruroc, one of our latest partners, introduced two helmet models with Twiceme this winter, the RG2 and Lite+. Equipped with Twiceme technology, Ruroc helmet owners can store their personal and medical information to become more proactive about their safety during trips to the mountain. Friends, family, and ski patrol can access this information by holding their smartphone to the Twiceme symbol on the helmet that holds an NFC chip without requiring cell coverage. The technology allows rescuers to quickly scan equipment to receive critical health information, emergency contacts, and other life-saving details.
In addition to storing personal information, Twiceme enables helmet owners to virtually follow other friends with Twiceme helmets and alert them if they get separated. They can also set a “Get Back Alert" when a skier or snowboarder doesn't return to a designated area within a set time frame, automatically alerting emergency contacts that the person might be in trouble.
Ruroc RG2: Protection Meets Innovation
The new RG2 helmet includes Ruroc goggles and a removable face mask for complete head and face protection. The helmet blends Twiceme with multiple physical protection elements, including Rheon® advanced impact and rotational protection technology. The helmet is also compatible with Cardo™ Dynamic mesh communications, which allows wireless communication between multiple skiers and snowboarders using the same technology.
The RG2 Series offers models featuring iconic movie brands, including Marvel's Deadpool and Disney’s Star Wars, where owners choose either the Darth Vader or Stormtrooper model to help make a bold, distinctly Dark Side statement.
Ruroc Lite+: Elite Performance with Essential Safety
Ruroc also launched the Ruroc Lite+ series, delivering elite-level protection in a lightweight package. Developed in cooperation with world-class skiers Tanner Hall, Emil Granbom, and Sam Baumgartner, and snowboarders Stian Kleivdal, and Thomas Feurstein,
the Lite+ features an ultra-durable injection-molded ABS shell designed to withstand repeated impacts, making it ideal for aggressive riders pushing their limits. Like the RG2, it features Twiceme and Rheon protection.
